Going through a series of web pages and purposeless surfing, I came across a very interesting and on the other side of it a very freighting reality. Just like any other e commerce website like eBay, there are a number of website dedicated solely for the purpose of buying and selling of “Malicious soft wares” or better known as malware. Organized like a real world market place and the bids ranges from $50 to $3000 and more these websites not only gave a scare to the general public about the security of their personal computers and devices but also a serious headache to the states that legislated malware as illegal and a punishable crime. The products available on these websites include small little snippets that can erase your temporary memory etc to potential break down of your whole system.

The major problem regarding the spreading of these soft wares for dew bucks maybe a freighting reality for general users of computers but it also encompasses another threat to our future development of knowledge too. Apart from being economically disastrous to a general user they also stops the practice of hacking and other practices that not necessarily retards the development of new software but in effect supports them. The history tells us that Hackers are the biggest programmers of all times and there presence is as necessary as an engineer working for a big firm like Microsoft. This is the sole reason why Defcon the biggest convention of hackers is held annually in the US.

Hacking and sniffing into different PCs and networks is not a bad thing as it provides curious programmers with its proper food for thought. Ethical hacking, the term coined by most people around the world about the positive aspects of hacking is the only source for our future generations to grow and make something. With the readily available malicious softwares to the newbies in the computer science majors, we are only limiting the genuine ideas for the better future but also bottle necking the huge talents that can grow and do some real magic in the software industry. The success story of ‘Google’ and ‘Facebook’ are a prime example of these genuine ideas which the websites selling malware are suppressing.

Finally for some financial benefits the shrewd hackers of today are selling repeated and primary level codes, limiting the distribution and development of new threads and softwares and a huge suspicion is observed that these sold softwares are a new way of future exploits, making the threats of hacking more potential and adverse. We must support the genuine ideas brought up by our newer entrants and must provide them with opportunities to learn by doing themselves rather then selling and limiting their minds.

An interesting fact for you all, most of these softwares are transferred through famous video sites like you tube so next time while grabbing some video be careful of any malware.
